FEMALE Beauty Faves: Sequined Brows And Vivid Green Makeup Look On Marc Jacobs’ SS20 Runway

It was truly a stellar beauty moment at Marc Jacobs’ SS20 runway as the brand closed New York Fashion Week with a plethora of magnificent beauty looks that stole our breath away. Over at the backstage, no two looks were the same. In fact, leading makeup artist Pat McGrath who was working the magic backstage came up with 60 completely different beauty looks that went beyond our creative imagination.

The spectacular results showcased individuality in each and every beauty look that was inspired by the iconic decades from the 1960s to the 1980s. In fact, there were plenty of glitter finishes, rhinestone details, smokey eyes and dazzling colours.

“There is a nod to the past and future. What’s great is taking the looks that come from the past but modernising them. I would call it a modern take on street style – street style in the most maximal way,” said Pat McGrath according to Vogue.

Whether it was silver glitters or popping eyeshadow colours, Pat certainly didn’t go light-handedly and made sure every beauty look shined under the spotlight. Among all, the sequinned brows and all-green eye design is one of many we’re obsessed with!

Underneath all the rhinestones and glitter stickers, getting the stunning green eyeshadow to pop is not a difficult affair. Start off with a base shade similar to your skin tone on your eyelid and work your way up to up just slightly over the brow bone. Pay more attention to your brow hairs as you’ll want to lighten them as much as you can without caking it with too much product.

To achieve that intense, vivid green colour, create an outline of the dome shape with a light hand and fill in the colour with an eyeshadow or a concealer brush to create a consistent, solid block of colour. Then, use a blending brush to buff the colour around the corner of your eye and subtly extend the colour to the lower part of your eye.

For the rhinestones, use a skin-safe glue such as a good quality eyelash glue and apply them onto the desired position with a pair of tweezers. Don’t worry if the glue is visible on your skin when you apply the rhinestones as it will turn transparent once dry. Keep your lips looking as natural as possible with a simple application of lip balm or use a lip colour that closely matches the natural colour of your lips.
