FEMALE Beauty Faves: Graphic, Gold Eyeliner From Dior Haute Couture SS20

Less but graphic!

Dior kicked off its latest Spring Summer 2020 runway show with some finest craftsmanship and of course, trendsetting beauty looks that look stunning on and off the stage. There were no flamboyant looks on the models but instead, natural-looking skin with subtly confident eye makeup.

Peter Philips, the creative and image director for Dior makeup, was the mastermind of this quietly bold look that can be easily worn out on the streets. This combination of double eyeliner separated by a swipe of gold pigment in between is absolutely sophisticated without looking too powerful. Best of all, it can be recreated with just a handful of iconic Dior makeup products.

Before getting started on the eye makeup, Peter prepped the model’s skin with Dior Hydra Life range to make sure it looks healthy and used Dior Lip Scrub to get rid of dead skin on the lips.

“I created an ultra-natural complexion prepped with Dior Backstage Face & Body Primer. Then, I used the Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation, which fine texture provides a really natural effect, matching each skin tone. As a finishing touch, I corrected with the brand-new Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer,” Peter explained.

For the eye look, Peter started by curling the lashes with Dior Backstage Eyelash Curler and applied the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara in black at the roots of the lashes. To create the “double-winged” look, he drew two black lines with Diorshow On Stage Liner in matte black at the corner of the eye on the upper and lower eyelids. Then, he simply filled the gap between the two lines with the gold eye shadow from Dior Backstage Custom Eye Palette.

To wrap up the whole look, he finished with Dior Lip Maximizer in shade 001 Pink for a glossy, plumping effect.
