Couple Dies Holding Each Other’s Hands After 58 Years of Marriage

True love does exist!

You thought that this only happens in movies like the famous happy ending from The Notebook, well that’s what their daughter, Corina Martinez thought as well. George and Ora Lee Rodriguez died holding each other’s hands in their San Antonio home after celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary together.

According to KTLA, the pair just celebrated their 58th anniversary a week before they passed away. High school sweethearts, the pair met when George was working at the butcher shop, and married after George completed his time in the military, as stated from FOX 29. The couple had three children.

Before their passing, both George and Ora Lee were diagnosed with dementia within years of each other and when George suffered from a stroke a few months ago, the children requested and made sure that their hospital beds were side-by-side.

When George passed away in his sleep, Ora Lee followed three hours later while still holding her husband’s hand. Their other daughter Georgia said, “My mother would always say that she was going to take my father or vice versa, and it did happen. We didn’t think it would, but it did.”

The couple passed away surrounded by their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A room filled with love. Who wouldn’t wanna die while holding the love of your life’s hand in a room full of the people you love? *grabs tissue*
