Whether you’re trying to lose weight for that new bridesmaid’s dress or have an awesome party and you don’t mind shedding some extra kilos to reach your ideal weight goal in that soon-to-be-yours dress, we’ve got the just the plan to get you looking like a knockout at those fabulous occasions!
Week 1: Go Shopping
The most important part of achieving your goal is buying that hot little number one size smaller! We know black has a similar effect, go for a bolder colour instead. By the end of this, you’re going to have a smashing silhouette, so why not wear something that screams for attention? In a good way, of course!
Week 2: Start a food diary
Jot down or better yet, snap a photo of every meal you’ll be having – breakfast, lunch, and dinner and don’t skip the in between-meal snack too! This way you can track your eating habits and find out if you’re consuming too little or too much of something. Use a food tracker app like Calorific or See How You Eat to keep tracker of your daily food consumptions.
Week 3: Roll Out The Tape
Prior to starting your fitness journey, measure your bust, chest, waist and hips before stepping on the weighing scales, then set a realistic benchmark. For example, tell yourself the amount of weight you have to lose to fit into that dress. Gather all your will power because from now onwards you have to say bye-bye to sugary treats and start a daily 45 minute run on the treadmill. That’s right, DAILY! Also, go through your food diary to re-assess your meals.
Week 4: Midsection tone-up
Celebrity personal trainer, Ramona Braganza suggest doing lots of reverse crunches with leg lifts as seen in one her YouTube videos. Here’s how: lie on your back and pull your knees to your chest with your hand under your butt. Extend your legs straight out (keeping them off the floor) and lift straight up. They should be at a 90-degree angle to the floor. Curl leg back into starting position and repeat. Do three sets of 10, every day.
Week 5: Smooth(ie) Operator
Whenever you feel sluggish or need a detox, chug a green smoothie twice daily. Here’s a no fuss recipe to try out – blend together one bunch spinach, one ripe avocado and one apple and squirt some lime juice in. You get a creamy smoothie sans dairy!
