Balenciaga brings Crocs to a completely new level. Literally.
Forget the traditional Crocs, platform Crocs are about to be the talk of the season now with Balenciaga debuting them during the Paris Fashion Week last Sunday.
While Crocs isn’t a stranger to fashion (Christoper Kane presented precious stone-embellished printed Crocs at his Spring/Summer 2017 presentation), these multiple colored 10cm platform rubber clogs with cartoonish rainbow, flower and animal rubber pins are leaving fans absolutely divided. Even we’re still deciding if it’s fashion forward or a dud, because admittedly, these Balenciaga Crocs do look quite cool.
When asked about the footwear, Demna Gvasalia explain that he’d been drawn to Crocs and found them modern with its injection moulding tech used to manufacture the shoes.
“It’s a very innovative shoe. It’s light, it’s a one-piece foam mould and to me these kind of techniques and working with these kind of materials is very Balenciaga,” – Gvasalia.
One thing we can be sure of is that we will be seeing these Crocs on the streets in the spring of 2018 as they hits stores next year.
