3 Tips for Wearing a Leather Dress to Work

All you need are the right accessories to rock it like you mean serious business!

If we had to put our fashionista of the month, Bella Lo, in ONE style category, it’d be grunge. A walking fashion look book, the 23-year-old fashion design tutor says her favourite colour is black (which just reminds us of this particular HK blogger) because of how timeless and easy to match it is. But this sazzy Indonesian beauty is all about textures and prints too. One of her fave pieces: a leather dress. She shows us how to rock it at the office with the simplest tips!

1. Accessorising should be done at the most minimal level. That means skipping the arm candy and the ring party because otherwise you might come off as getting ready to hit the club… instead of that stack of documents your boss just left on your desk. At most, choose an embellished or bejewelled necklace to make your neck look less bare.

2. When it comes to choosing a bag to match this statement dress, going for a clean and simple style is the best way to go. Bella’s choice? A classic brown leather clutch; it gives off the illusion that she’s carrying a briefcase. Our other suggestion would be to opt for an iridescent texture to add a little vibrance!

3. Black pumps are the easiest way to match any outfit but if you prefer more colour in your outfit, a pop of it on your kicks is totally fine. Just be sure not to choose one that would shine bright like a diamond (yes, that includes neon brights and glossy-like textures). We say, go for a matte colour or suede. They’re more complementing and professional-looking.
