But despite the tough business situation, luxury labels and fashion conglomerates are stepping up to lend a helping hand to the health industry and others who are in need of assistance to get through this pandemic.
From manufacturing masks and hand sanitisers to donating money to those in desperate need, these fashion and beauty brands deserve a shout-out for their efforts in times of a global crisis.

French luxury powerhouse LVMH which owns brands like Louis Vuitton and Bvlgari is perhaps the first to step up and venture into producing hand sanitizer. The company transformed its perfume and makeup factories to produce large quantities of hydroalcoholic gels for local hospitals and authorities in France. Besides that, they also pledged to help address the surgical mask shortage France is currently facing by sourcing 40 million face masks from China over the next four weeks. The multinational promises to finance the first week’s worth of deliveries which amounts to five million euros.
