Here’s Everything You Need To Know About Magnetic False Lashes

Apart from the messy application and difficult-to-master skill, false eyelashes are very much loved by many beauty enthusiasts who want longer and fuller eyelashes. However, ever since eyelash extension was introduced, many women are opting for the service to avoid the hassle of dealing with the tricky and sticky application of falsies.

But what if there’s an alternative that doesn’t involve any glue or a visit to the salon?

Enter: magnetic lashes. This innovative creation was founded in 2014 by Katy Stoka, founder of One Two Cosmetics based in Miami, and slowly rose to fame in the United States before going viral globally.

So how do you apply them?

Although it looks exactly like a pair of adhesive falsies, magnetic lashes use magnets instead of glue to clip onto our natural lashes. Basically, each eye will require two sets of lashes that each go to the top and bottom of your natural lash and sandwich it in between.

To start off, you’ll need to sit the top strip on your eyelashes and make sure they’re curved in shape according to your natural eyelashes. Then, bring the bottom strip close and wait for it to click with the top strip. Even though magnetic lashes were invented for its convenience, applying them requires some techniques you’ll have to master.

Is it reusable?

When it comes to adhesive falsies, the reusability of the lashes depends on how well you remove the glue without damaging the lashes but for magnetic lashes, it requires little to no effort to care for them. All you need to do once you’ve removed the lashes is simply wipe off any mascara with a cotton and cotton bud, wait for it to dry, and place them back in the case. In fact, magnetic lashes are said to be reusable as many times as possible until they wear off, as long as you take good care of them.

Are they all the same?

While the concept is the same – no glue required – the material differs. For example, Ardells’ magnetic lashes are made of 100 per cent human hair. On the other hand, One Two Lash shared that they “love all furry creatures, including humans” and only use high-quality synthetic fibres to make their products.
