I’ll admit it, aging is a process that I dread going through because I’m not ready. While I’ve already accepted that I’ll grow old one day, I still want to slow it down and protect my skin from aging faster than it should.
Targeted skincare like anti-aging ranges should do the trick, more specifically, the SK-II R.N.A. Power range should, as it includes some of the brand’s best-sellers like the R.N.A. Power Radical New Age cream, R.N.A. Power Airy Milky Lotion and the R.N.A. Power Radical New Age Essence. In this review, I’ll explain how to use 2 of them, the ingredients they contain, how much they retails for and more. Read on!
When to use anti-aging products?
There’s always confusion about when we should start using anti-aging skincare products. But, I’ve learned that the right time to start is before the damage is done, more specifically, in your early to mid-20s as that’s when your skin is still supple and strong.
Taking preventative measures such as using anti-aging creams and serums will help minimize the effects when you go into your 30s, 40s and so on. So, if you’ve not been using any anti-aging products, now’s a great time to start!
Using the SK-II R.N.A Power range.
My skin is generally fine with just a few fine lines under my eyes but no distinct wrinkles or laugh lines showing yet. However, I felt like I needed of a good anti-aging moisturiser as my skin was beginning to feel dry, rough and lifeless, to put it bluntly. So when SK-II sent me the SK-II R.N.A Power Radical New Age cream and R.N.A Power Airy Milky Lotion, I thought it would be a great opportunity to test them out and see how they would work on my skin; the reviews I read of both were massively positive, so naturally, I had high hopes for this range.
Another reason why I was excited to try them was because of the nourishing and skin-conditioning ingredients the range included to promote healthy and youthful skin: the “RNArchitect Complex”, which combines concentrated Pitera™ with hydrolysed soy and yeast protein which lock in moisture to firm up the skin and provide radiance from within. I’ve had good experience with SK-II’s Facial Treatment Essence that is 90% Pitera™ so seeing that it’s incorporated in this range was great! You can read the Facial Treatment Essence Review we did in 2018.
The R.N.A. Power Range also includes Chlorella Extract, which is extracted from freshwater algae to help in reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines caused by dryness.
What the difference between R.N.A. Power Radical New Age cream and R.N.A. Power Airy Milky Lotion?
The R.N.A. Power Radical New Age and R.N.A. Power Airy Milky Lotion I received are both moisturizers that contain the same anti-aging active ingredients mentioned earlier but differ in their own way. First off, the cream mix other ingredients such as shea butter in its formula, giving it a thicker consistency and making it the perfect texture for normal to dry skin types. So, if you prefer long-lasting moisture and a naturally glowing complexion, this one’s for you.
Now, the R.N.A. Power Airy Milky Lotion works great for people who prefer weightless textures or have oily skin type as it’s lighter in texture than the Power Radical New Age cream yet still provides the same anti-aging and moisturizing benefits. What’s great about it is that the lotion uses Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 which is known to help minimize pores making your skin look smooth and supple! This is a great base for makeup as it allows a smooth application.
How to use the R.N.A. Power Radical New Age?
As my skin is fairly dry and I prefer richer textures, I found myself using the R.N.A. Power Radical New Age cream. How? I simply switched my current moisturizer for this one and used it after my serum and before my eye cream.
If you’re already using the R.N.A. Power Radical New Age Essence and R.N.A. Power Eye Cream, then use your moisturizer in between the two. The instructions explain to take a pearl-sized amount with the spatula and dot over your forehead, cheeks, and chin with your fingertips. However, to keep my routine short – as I usually do – I deposited the cream on my palm instead and added some sunscreen before mixing it together and spreading it all over my face and neck.
Be sure to get to your neck too as the skin is thin, therefore, can show signs of ageing faster than your face.
Did the R.N.A. Power work?
As I mentioned earlier, I don’t have prominent wrinkles across my face except for fine lines under my eyes. So, where I really wanted to see changes was in my dull complexion and dry and slightly rough texture. Well, I’m happy to say that I did see improvements by the day!
Immediately after applying, it felt as if a moisturizing sheet was covering my face, shielding it from damage – this was a benefit that I absolutely loved. It gave a soothing and cooling sensation that my dry skin craved for and a dewy look right after. I’ve been using the cream morning and night for almost 10 days and my skin’s elasticity has definitely become a lot firmer with pores reduced and a livelier complexion. I don’t even have to put makeup on which is the best part of the change! Overall, this doesn’t come as a surprise to me as I’ve experienced and seen what Pitera™ alone can do to one’s skin.
With a glowing testimonial I’m giving this range and seeing the difference it’s done, I’d surely recommend it to anyone who’s looking to improve their skin. The R.N.A. Power Radical New Age is priced at RM419 (50G), RM633 (80G) and RM672 (100G), and the R.N.A. Power Airy Milky Lotion at RM419 (50G) and RM633 (80G).
Do give the R.N.A. Power Radical New Age Essence (RM446 for 30ml, RM682 for 50ML and RM955 for 75ML) and R.N.A. Power Eye Cream (RM429 for 15G) a try too if you’re looking to combat the issues a little deeper.
