A quick primer on Maleficent: played by Angelina Jolie, she’s probably one of Disney’s most glamorous and instantly recognisable villains with her chic yet severe look, and her relatively simple makeup means this is a look you can do for Halloween and be assured it’ll be a winner!

“Maleficent is one of the most iconic Disney Villains of all time. People love the fact that she’s really just a good girl gone bad – a ferocious, refined fairy,” explains Regan Rabanal, Senior Manager of Makeup Artistry in Asia Pacific. What I love about Halloween is bringing characters to life, and I think Maleficent is a timeless choice!”

The strong, stunning classic Maleficent look is anchored in her well-defined red lips: M·A·C recommends the bold and beautiful Matte Lipstick in Russian Red, finished with a coat of Clear Lipglass.

To bring out Maleficent’s vivid green eyes, create contrast with deep purple Eyeshadow in Scene, smoky Eyeshadow in Print, In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Mascara and a #36 Lash set to build dramatic lashes.

“What I love about my Maleficent-inspired look is that I really used the eye makeup look to communicate her characteristics. As a child I was fascinated by her sage colored skin from the original Disney film which inspired me to create a stronger, dramatic eye using the Art Library Palette in “It’s Designer.” Really go for that deep-set crease she has and add a soaring arch to your eyebrow,” says Regan.

Finally for cheekbones that could cut glass, the film relies on prosthetic makeup (which you can see below) but there’s no need for that on Halloween– just try the M·A·C  Powder Blush in Harmony, and build further emphasis with the Studio Fix Sculpt and Shape Contour Palette.
