We’re more than halfway through this #MCO and I really miss hanging out with my friends. So we decided to have a little fun at home by taking out eyeshadow palettes and paint our peepers as we caught up with one another via Google Hangouts.
“While I’m super blessed to have a roof over my head, the #MCO is making me miss being with my friends. But, thanks to Google Hangouts, we can all recreate the same experience and enjoy ourselves as if we’re catching up at the mall. Since we’re not allowed to go out anywhere, we decided to have a girls’ night out via Google Hangouts by wearing fancy dresses, putting on some makeup, chatting about the latest movies and updating each other about what’s going on in our lives over a few glasses of wine.
Like how my friends and I would usually come over to each other’s house to get ready before we head out, we did the same thing, just that this time, my best friends and I discussed makeup looks over a video cam. And, this was the look one of them picked out for me!

I skipped the base and went straight into action. First off, I brought out my Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil to play. The Delinquent is one of my favourites because it has a dark purple glittery finish and instead of applying it sparingly, I went ahead and applied it on both corners of my eyes to create that sexy smoky look.
Next up was using my other favourite shadow shades on my eyelids – the Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Palette. What made me purchase this was the attractive combination of different peach tones in one palette. Using an eyeshadow brush to apply the colour Peach Sangria on my eyelids was very easy because the shade is flattering on my skin tone and isn’t too loud.
Then came the final touch where I brought out my Etude House Tiny Twinkle Rose Gold Ornament palette. Since I’ve never tried wearing gold eyeshadow before, I decided to give it a go (this was my idea BTW. My BFFs looked a bit shocked at the extent I was going!). Using my fingers, I applied a little bit of the colour in the centre towards the lower part of my lids and that made all the difference in the world! Of course, on a normal day, I wouldn’t think of doing this because I’m always pressed for time and on the go. To complete the look I lightly applied Peach Tea on my creases from the Too Faced Just Peachy Matte Palette.
After all that, I was done! I repeated the same steps for my lower lid and I was good to go. All I needed was a red lippie, a wrap around dress and I was all set for our hangout session. While some people might assume that it’s a waste of time to get ready and play dress up with your BFFs online, we feel that it’s a good way to stay connected during this period of isolation. Plus, it’s simply fun and exciting! We ended the night with a few drinks and I was so happy everyone in the group played along to this idea. Oh yes, if you’re thinking of doing the same thing, don’t forget to put on some jazz music or any type of music you like to set the mood and make your online hangout extra special. Have fun!”
