Insta-fluencer Lucinda Graham’s magic fingers can create bright, ASMR-triggering makeup looks in no time. If bold MOTDs are your thing, get into her world filled with ’em now!
Behind the scenes of her highly-electric eye makeup, Lucinda is a stay-at-home-mom to two sons. The 33-year old content creator from Harare, Zimbabwe starts her day at 5am prepping her kids for school and clearing off morning chores before going into makeup or editing mode, which could take up to five hours depending on its intricacy. Crazy for drawing teeny tiny artwork on her eyelids, the beauty lover has dabbled with Instagram makeup for last six years! Whether barefaced at home or glazed in the coolest OOTD, we know Lucinda’s tried, tested and loved line-up is priceless!
FEMALE: What do you love most about what you do?
Lucinda: “It has allowed me to connect with people of various backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities who have come together for the love of art and makeup. Beauty hasn’t only been the start of meaningful relationships; it has become my escapade. I’m quite an anxious person but makeup is a great meditation – it helps so much in clearing my mind.”
F: Who gave you the beauty tip you’ve held on to for as long as you can remember?
L: “I have more than one go-to guru when it comes to tips! My list includes Wayne Goss, Rae Morris, Tati Westbrook and Jaclyn Hill. One that I’ve been holding on for years is to blend your makeup thoroughly and even when you think you’ve blended enough, blend some more – this was probably from one of Jaclyn’s tutorials.”
F: Who would you swap an entire makeup collection with?
L: “Jeffree Star – I can only imagine how his whole stash looks like!”
F: What’s your favourite colour?
L: “Yellow, definitely. It’s such a bright, chirpy color that makes me happy!”

F: Do you remember your first experience with makeup?
L: “When I was in my teens, my mum had this gorgeous Dior LipStick palette and I remember being so obsessed with it. I would sneak into her makeup stash just to use it! I bought my very first eyeshadow palette I when I was 15. It was a generic one, but I loved it.”
F: Are you more of a skincare or makeup girl?
L: “I’d say a mix of both but with a lean towards the makeup side. I feel that both are just as important to me.”
F: What are your all-time beauty staples?
L: “I love Tarte’s Shape Tape concealer for its coverage, texture and staying power. Viseart’s Editorial Brights palette has been my go-to for the longest time – its easy-to-blend eyeshadows are simply holy grail material. If we’re talking about skincare, the product that comes to my mind right away is Peter Thomas Roth’s Potent-C Power Serum, which is simply amazing! My routine also stars Biossance’s Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel and Allies of Skin’s Mandelic Pigmentation Corrector Serum. A fail-proof cleanser I’ve had forever is the Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Foam, which never breaks me out.”
F: If you can go back in time to gift a holy grail beauty product to your younger self, what would it be?
L: “Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Dipbrow Pomade in Ebony cos my brows were non-existent back in the days! I like how I have total control over my brows with it.”
F: What has been one of the boldest makeup looks you’ve tried?
L: “I think it was the Lotus flower makeup look, which was a bit of a challenge to do.”

F: What do you want to see more of from yourself this year?
L: “I want to be more consistent with my postings, also add more full-faced makeup tutorials and skincare videos in the picture. I’m thinking about starting a YouTube channel too where I can go in better depth when I’m filming my looks.”
