Airbnb has done quite a handful of exciting contests over the years, from a stay in London’s famed Abbey Road Studios to spending a terrifying night in the catacombs of Paris.
And just when you think it can’t get any crazier than those, the homeshare company has outdone itself again by offering two lucky guests to spend the night at the legendary Louvre Museum in Paris.
For the very first time, passionate art-lovers will have the chance to cosy up to priceless masterpieces, including the famous Mona Lisa painting, and sleep under the Louvre’s iconic glass Pyramid in a mini-pyramid that’ll be specifically designed to celebrate the building’s 30th anniversary.
The best part? Malaysia is selected as one of the countries around the world to partake in this extraordinary opportunity!
One lucky winner and their guest will be gifted with a night’s stay in the Louvre on April 30 to experience what happens inside the world’s most magical museum when the lights go out. As the sun sets on Paris, the winning duo will make their way to the museum where they’ll be greeted by an art historian who’ll take them on a bespoke tour previously given to the Obamas, Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
“We are happy to offer this unique and special experience for two people to stay in the museum overnight, in a bespoke pyramid-shaped bedroom. We know that many people would love the opportunity to wander alone at night through the Louvre and we want this to be a magical and unforgettable experience. With Airbnb’s partnership, we hope to encourage more people to discover how truly accessible and inspiring the wonders of art can be,” said Anne-Laure Béatrix, deputy managing director of the Musée du Louvre.
Apart from the guided discovery tour, the duo will also enjoy the night toasting a glass of Renaissance-inspired aperitif with Mona Lisa while relaxing on a Parisian lounge sofa with atmospheric sound of French music on vinyl records playing in the background. Other legendary hosts that’ll be present for the night includes the Greek goddess of love and beauty, Venus of Milo who’ll “host” an extravagant feast in a pop-up dining room, as well as Napoleon III who’ll be hosting an intimate acoustic concert in his lavish apartments.
