All The Eco-Friendly Activities At Pavilion Kuala Lumpur To Celebrate Earth Day

On 30th March, Pavilion KL switched off all non-essential lighting in the mall to observe Earth Hour! It must have been quite a sight to see the usually dazzling mall without its lights, but if you missed it, don’t worry – they’ve got a number of other exciting initiatives during the month for the upcoming Earth Day on 22nd April 2019.

1. Biji-biji Ethical Fashion Pop-up

For the first time, Biji-biji Ethical Fashion and Pavilion have collaborated to open a pop-up store on Level 6 in front of Tokyo Street where you can experience their latest collection of sustainable fashion. Until 14th April, head on over to see their gorgeous new Ethical+ Nakakoma Orimono Collection of bags and apparel created with upcycled kimono fabric from the Nakakomo Orimono kimono makers in Japan. Besides learning more about Biji-biji’s mission to champion more sustainable, less wasteful fashion (did you know they are the first World Fair Trade Organisation member in Malaysia?), you’ll be able to see some of the best-selling upcycled products from their catalogue and preview their Father’s Day collection designed by local fashion designer Maatin Shakir.

2. Guess Recycling Drop-off

Remember the Guess x Kloth Cares recycling initiative? You have until 30th April to drop your old clothes off at Guess’ dedicated recycling station right next to the Biji-biji pop-up on Level 6. Recycling 5 items of clothing will get you an RM50 discount voucher from Guess and help to promote sustainable fashion!

3. World Wildlife Fund Pop-up

On Level 5, you’ll find a World Wildlife Fund (WWF) pop-up supporting and spreading awareness about the environment and their fund-raising efforts! Look out for their factboards and fun educational tools for kids.

4. The Body Shop’s Free Plant Giveaway

On 20th April, come down to the Pavilion KL main entrance to pick up a free plant from The Body Shop! Their yearly Earth Day plant giveaway is back to create a greener Malaysia, and we are totally on board with that! With over 1000 free plants to choose from, this is the perfect chance to get started on your green journey.
