Team FEMALE’s Digital Detox Diary: Getting In Touch With Mother Nature

Prev1 of 4

As FEMALE’s digital team, we’re never away from our computers or phones for long. And as technology makes it easier to blur the line between work and leisure, it’s not the healthiest way to live. With that in mind, we headed off to different parts of the country for a detox to escape our digital lives!

The nature of my job as FEMALE’s Web Writer requires me to be online almost 24/7. Let me tell you I’ve had my fair share of burning the midnight oil and working on weekends to meet deadlines. Living the fast-paced life has its perks but sometimes it can really drain you. #whatislife?

It’s important to take a break once in a while, I had the chance to visit the Belum Rainforest Reserve in Perak, a 130 million-year-old rainforest (with little to no phone signal, eep!). This was the perfect opportunity for me to get away from the hustle and bustle of the modern world and surround myself with Mother Nature’s best. I was quite amped up for this trip as it not only involved jungle trekking excursions in the ancient rainforest but also a trip to the Orang Asli settlement, tree-planting with the Belum Forest Friends, and a great stay at the Belum Rainforest Resort.

Upon looking at my itinerary, I thought to myself ‘I’m going to survive going off the grid!’, there are so many activities lined up. So, did I survive the challenge? Here’s what happened on my three-day digital-detox trip!
