We’ve rounded up a few places where you can end 2014 with a bang.
With Christmas Day out of the picture, people are probably starting to ask, “So, what are your plans for New Year’s Eve?” Well, if you haven’t a clue of where you can go to count the minutes down to 2015, we’ve got a couple of suggestions on where you can hang out besides the usual crowd-crazy spots AND still catch the fireworks.
1. Atmosphere 360 @ KL Tower
Dine your way to 2015 at the revolving restaurant atop KL Tower with the magnificent view of Kuala Lumpur. If you make reservations for the right session, you’ll be in the perfect spot to catch the fireworks when the clock strikes midnight.

2. Impiana KLCC Hotel
Get an awesome view of the fireworks from the swimming pool area and the best part is, you won’t have to worry about jam-ming your way home after the countdown; just head back to your hotel room. Who said the perfect holiday means leaving on a jet plane?

3. Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur
Hotel option #2 which incidentally also has one of the best views of KL, especially for fireworks. Plus point: the open-air rooftop SkyBar.

4. Stratosphere at The Roof
Okay, maybe you’d prefer a more party-like atmosphere and maybe you’d want it NOT in KL. If so, this is the perfect place. Located at 1st Avenue at Bandar Utama, it’s RM100 per entry but you get a complimentary drink AND a 360 panoramic view of the city on a helipad lounge.

5. View Rooftop Bar
KL peeps, don’t be jelly because there’s another iconic rooftop bar party waiting for you at GTower on Jalan Tun Razak. Expect fireworks (of course), drinks and DJs bringing the roof down with awesome tracks!

6. The Square, Publika
Enjoy all forms of art (music, dance, DJ and… art) performances at Publika’s New Year’s Eve party and yes, there’ll be a countdown fireworks show too! The best part is, admission is FREE! Oh, and there are prize giveaways too.

7. Jalan Bukit Pantai, Bangsar
If you pass by the back roads of Bangsar enough, you might have seen this spot where there’s a perfect frame of the KL skyline between houses. Go on a mini adventure looking for this spot (it’s kind of near Pantai Towers) on NYE and when you find it, park at the side of the road and soak up that view. Just be sure to not block traffic or cause a ruckus; it is a residential area.
(We’ve personally been there on Merdeka Day Eve and it’s a nice, quiet spot to enjoy the fireworks without being in a sweaty crowd.)
