Wherever you’re travelling to this year, there’s always an abundance of landmarks to tick off in your itinerary. While every city has its unique architectural wonders and panoramic views that are worth a visit, sometimes the most spectacular views can be found by simply looking up at the sky.
You may think that you’ve already seen plenty of sunsets in your life, but trust us when we say you’ve yet to see anything like these! Sunsets can and do look different depending on where you are. Here’s a round-up of some of the spots you need to visit to view the best sunsets in the world.
1. Uluwatu Temple, Bali
Temples are a common sighting in Bali, but Uluwatu Temple which perches on a cliff 250 metres above the crashing waves of the Indian Ocean is a unique destination to visit. It’s open all day but many people flock to the area in the late afternoon to secure a viewing spot on the edge that’s optimal for selfie-taking and sunset-gazing. Although the opportunity to catch the sunset comes with an admission charge, you can experience a traditional Kecak dance performed daily at 6pm on a special cliff-top stage while waiting for the sun to set.
