When you’re surrounded by food with some form of oil in it, whether it’s a delicious juicy burger or a butter icing cake, if you’re anything like me (a certified clutz) you’re bound to spill/stain/splash some on your clothes. If wearing an adult size bib was a thing, I’d definitely tote it along whenever I go on my food escapades.
I’ve had my fair share of experiences one too many times and I’m not going to let it ruin my clothes (especially my poor white garments) anymore! I noticed that rubbing the stain off your clothes with a wet tissue will only leave an even bigger yellowish stain. So I did my research and found that the inexpensive mundane home product – baby powder is a powerful grease remover!
With greasy oil stains what you want to do is to have a good oil absorber to remove the stubborn substance and baby powder gets the job done. I’m not kidding, it’s a tried and tested method that I’ve used time and time again with a constant spotless result!
Here’s what you need to do:
1. Don’t wipe it with anything! Add baby powder directly on the stain. Depending on the size and the oiliness of the food you may need to put more.
2. Gently rub the powder on the stain in a circular motion and let it sit for a good 2 – 5 minutes (again depending on size).
3. With a baby wipe or if soap and water are available near you, rub and wash off the residue. You’ll instantly notice that it’s way easier to remove the stain. Your clothes will be good as new!
Tip! Make it travel-friendly by transferring it in a handbag friendly small container so you can easily remove the stain wherever you are.
