Taking the number one spot is Odette, a modern French eatery in Singapore, followed by Gaggan in Bangkok and Den in Tokyo. Rounding out the top ten are more restaurants from Bangkok, Taipei, Tokyo and Singapore. The rest of the continent is well represented in the full list of 50, so if you’re wondering where to dine in Asia, make this list your handy guide to the best and trendiest dining spots.
In Malaysia, the top prize went to none other than Dewakan, headed by Chef Darren Teoh! At number 46, it’s also the only Malaysian restaurant to make it on the list.
Noted for its modern Malaysian cuisine and innovative use of rare local ingredients, Dewakan also champions a number of admirable initiatives like offering free dining to hospitality students, supporting fellow restaurateurs and celebrating sustainable cooking.
It’s great to see a restaurant with such heart recognised on such a large scale. Kudos, guys!
