As part of its expansion in the Run footwear category, Under Armour’s HOVR Connected series is the definition of “smart shoes” as they’re integrated with a chip technology in the footwear that connects to your smartphone!

The latest addition of HOVR Infinite following the roll-out of the HOVR Phantom and HOVR Sonic Connected models is digitally savvy and designed for high-impact, long-distance runners. With connectivity being the focus of Under Armour in 2019, every HOVR performance running shoes will be able to connect to Under Armour’s “Map My Run” mobile application, allowing runners to track basic statistics such as running distance, pace and splits, as well as more advanced gait metrics like cadence (steps taken per minute) and stride length (distance between steps).

What’s intriguing about this technology is the fact that you don’t need to have your phone with you when you’re out, since your data is measured as soon as you start running and can be synced to the application once you’re back home. As a runner myself, it definitely sounds like a great option especially when I prefer to be as light as possible during my workout!

Ready to experience a seamless digital running experience? Here are the HOVR models you can choose from.

HOVR Infinite, RM649 — HOVR Infinite enhances how consumers experience Under Armour's proprietary HOVR technology — with its cushioning platform that features a sturdy foam compound, providing energy return and shock absorption with every foot strike. The shoe's foam is designed to provide a sensation of 360 coverage that enables runners to go further and longer with every run.

HOVR Guardian, RM649 — This footwear is a stability trainer for runners that need support for overpronation, otherwise known as flat feet. The HOVR Guardian features support elements in the heel and the mid-foot to help guide the feet into the most efficient kind of transition. It also contains a pronation decelerator chassis with a dual density foam construction to provide a stable ride.

HOVR Phanton SE, RM699 — Compared to the previous generation of HOVR Phantom, the Phantom SE (Sports Edition) offers a more anatomical shaping of the collar to add to that sporty edge, as well as more breathability with engineered mesh. It's built for runners who want ultimate plush cushioning underfoot and an overall luxury ride.

HOVR Sonic 2, RM549 — An evolution of the original HOVR Sonic released in 2018, this model is designed to provide the smoothest ride for everyday runners. It features enhanced cushioning for more lockdown over the top of the foot and offers an overall flexible, responsive and smooth transition underfoot.
