Back in the old days, Malaysian women used to feed themselves with what we call ulam for maintaining a youthful complexion through its health benefits. Ulam according to Wikipedia means, salad. It’s a combination of different raw or sometimes steamed veggies all served together with the main dish. The veggies that are usually served are petai, pegaga, jering, kangkung, selom leaves and bitter gourd to name a few.
