Fine-dining Italian cuisine, street-style!
In conjunction with The World Week of Italian Cuisine’s second edition, The Extraordinary Italian Taste brings forth world-renowned Star Chef Roberto Dal Seno to Kuala Lumpur for a taste of modern interpretations of the Italian culinary tradition with dinner pairings boasting three different themes, ‘Italian Street is Food is Glam’ (21st Nov), ‘Italian Street Food is Trendy’ (23rd Nov) and ‘Italian Street Food is Gourmet’ (25th Nov).
The gastronomic event was organised by the Italian Trade Agency Kuala Lumpur in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy and Italy Malaysia Business Association to promote the relationship between the two countries and offer us an indulgent evening of Italian gourmet served as delectable street food. The night was also an important occasion for Taylor’s University’s culinary arts students as they had the opportunity to observe and learn from Chef Roberto.
We were lucky enough to have had a chance to experience the second theme, ‘Italian Street Food is Trendy’ at ONE KL’s The Wine Bar on the 23rd November. Each theme comes with a special menu and ours consisted of various pork, pasta and cheese courses paired with the finest Italian wines. And just by looking at the selection offered, we knew we were in for a great Italian taste! From starters like fresh ratatouille and creamy ricotta cheese to a main course platter of pork belly, ribs and ‘Zampone’ served with sundried tomato dipping and homemade barbecue sauce, we couldn’t help but to have seconds of each!
