Experience a sip of spring with Starbucks’ new cherry blossom-inspired beverages.
Spring marks the return of blooming flowers and warmer weather and with the season kicking off around this time of the year, it means that cherry blossoms are starting to bloom in their native countries.
But just because our country is summer all year long, it doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy spring and cherry blossoms here.
From 26 March 2019 onwards, Starbucks Malaysia will be rolling out two new springtime favourites — Matcha Azuki Blossom Crème Frappuccino and Azuki Blossom Crème Frappuccino — which combine two of the most beloved tastes in Asia: matcha (green tea powder) and azuki (red bean).
Frappuccino lovers can look forward to celebrating the return of cherry blossoms with the Azuki Blossom Crème Frappuccino featuring creamy milk blended with ice and red bean to create an earthy yet sweet treat. The decadent beverage is an aesthetically pleasing cherry blossom in a cup as it’s topped with azuki, fluffy whipped cream, white and pink rice blossom petals and tart cranberry bites.
For matcha fans, the new Matcha Azuki Blossom Crème Frappuccino features the creamy and deliciously bright flavours of matcha and savoury red bean, topped with pink and white rice puffs and cranberry bits that are sprinkled over the whipped cream and azuki.
Apart from capturing the season’s fleeting beauty in a cup, Starbucks Malaysia is also bringing the cherry blossom season to our country with its Artificial Reality (AR) Sakura Trees in all its stores. Leveraging on Facebook’s AR Camera technology, Japan’s famous cherry blossom trees will be brought to life in stores through three phases — budding, in-bloom and full bloom. This means you’ll be able to enjoy the exquisite and graceful beauty of the cascading sakura while sipping on your favourite springtime beverages!
In addition, Starbucks Malaysia will also recreate the magical sense of cherry blossoms in bloom with its spring merchandise collection which depicts the oriental cherry blossom and donarium cherry blossom. The collection features drinkware and collectables in varied shades of pastel pink, purple and gold hues that look absolutely stunning!
While spring and cherry blossoms are all the focus in March, that’s not all Starbucks Malaysia is blessing us with. For the very first time in Malaysia, Starbucks will be offering coconut milk at all its stores nationwide. It joins almond milk and soy milk as customizable milk options for its beverages, which will allow customers to rediscover popular favourites such as caramel macchiato in its new milk form.
The cherry blossom experience and new alternative milk offer will be available at all Starbucks Malaysia nationwide starting from 26 March 2019. Visit Starbucks Malaysia website for more information.
