Tight bras can cause breast pain, cancer and impaired lymph tissues.
“According to a study conducted at Harvard University, tight bras restrict blood circulation and can impair lymph tissues. Less oxygen and fewer nutrients are delivered to the cells, while waste products and toxins like dioxin, benzene and other carcinogenic chemicals cling to the body’s fatty tissues, especially the breast and aren’t flushed away when your bra is too tight.” – Dr Kua Voon Fong, Consultant Clinical Oncologist, Beacon Hospital, Petaling Jaya.
Tip: Common signs that your bra is too tight include straps falling down, boob cheeks spilling out and your underwire isn’t firmly sitting on your chest wall. Also, go braless at least eight hours a day when you’re at home.
