With the widely huge success of the first installment of the Uniqlo and JW Anderson collection, fans can now prep themselves to get their hands on the second collection.
Last November we were thrilled with the news of a returning collab but now we’ve got a first look at the campaign photos and a date for the release.
Inspired by the vibrant and colourful city of Britain’s coastal town, Brighton the collection dubbed ‘British Summer’ is very ‘ lightweight, very airy, with a lot of linen, and cotton that has a 1950’s subcultural movement’ said Jonathan Anderson, founder of JW Anderson.
“As a UNIQLO customer, I know exactly the quality that the brand gives to its products. I am very proud of the level of execution and the attention to details that we delivered on this new spring/summer collection,” he added.
From the campaign photos, we can see that stripe is the collection’s recurring key pattern, quintessentially signifying beachwear. To really bring in the British seaside vibe, seagull prints can also be spotted on T-shirts, knits, and bags. Expect soft colours with hints of sunburn, true blue, poppy red, white and beige, yellow, and sage green.
Besides casual wear, the collection also incorporates workwear elements through its 1950s style denim jackets and tunic shirts which took inspiration from the traditional British police uniforms with JW Anderson’s signature details.
The collection will be released in stores from April 20*
