Japanese Style Icon Kiko Mizuhara Is Coach’s New Brand Ambassador!

2018 is definitely Kiko Mizuhara’s year as not only was she named Dior’s Asia beauty brand ambassador earlier in March but just today, the American modern luxury leather brand Coach welcomes Kiko in the family as their new brand ambassador!

To celebrate their union, the 27-year-old Japanese model and actress together with Coach have designed a limited edition Signature Charlie bag fully customised by Kiko herself. She will also be featured in the brand’s Fall 2018 global campaign coming in July.

Inspired by outer space, the Carryall features Kiko’s personalised touches with leather tea roses and semi-precious stones around a moon souvenir pin. Unfortunately, the bag is only available in selected Coach stores in Japan for a limited time only. So, if you’re travelling to Japan soon or know somebody who is, now’s the time to get your hands on them!

Here, Kiko shares all about her new partnership with Coach and the coveted limited edition bag!

1. How excited are you to work with Coach?

“I was so happy when I heard about this opportunity! Coach is a brand with a nearly 80-year history and yet, it feels so modern. It’s an American brand but it’s very popular among Asians, including in Japan.”

2. What was the process like customising the limited edition Coach bag?

“Coach Create is such an innovative and fun platform! I first experienced it in February during New York Fashion Week and I was excited to work with the souvenir pins. I found moon and star pins that I really liked, so I chose them without hesitation. Then, I made a circle using coloured stones to evoke the feeling of outer space.”

3. What do you look for in a bag?

“A bag is an essential, especially for women – just like Doraemon’s [magic] pocket. It’s a very secured and precious pocket for me!”

4. Who do you envision wearing this bag?

“I believe the bag’s finishes work for various types of women. I sincerely hope that anyone who likes my design, regardless of age, fashion style and gender, will enjoy using it!”

5. You met Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers twice in February and again in April this year. What do you think of him?

“Stuart is very friendly and has a great sense of humour! I think he is very open-minded and unbiased. He has a strong curiosity for something new, and at the same time is very interested in traditional items. He is very good at combining them both.”
