Mawar Musfirah, a 25-year-old teacher, shares how she enjoys layering her outfits to make herself look stylish in a tudung.

When it comes to fashion, Mawar admits that she loves to collect items in the same designs but in different colours. This stylish hijabi has an impeccable taste when it comes to selecting outfits and describes her style as “feminine meets masculine and everything in between.”

You’d be surprised to know that Mawar credits her teaching career as what that motivates her to look her best every day – having students who enquire about her outfits and indirectly influencing other teachers to dress up!

Growing up, Mawar used to wear her sister’s clothes as a means of exploring fashion, but it wasn’t until she started experimenting in college that she found her personal style. It all started with her love of collecting statement shoes, and until today, a good pair is what she lets herself splurge on. “I would spend every single penny I have for a happy feet!”

Mawar is mostly inspired by fashion bloggers, with Olivia Palermo being her ultimate crush. When asked if it’s difficult for a hijabi to follow fashion trends, Mawar confidently responds that it’s anything but a hindrance. “I’ll pass if the trend isn’t suitable for me! Layering is the key to success when it comes to nailing the fashion game, and when in doubt accessorize with a pair of statement earrings or necklace.”
