How to be Your Own Stylist – 5 Easy Steps

Have you ever wished you had your own personal stylist? One who would guarantee you impeccable style WITHOUT making any fashion faux pas?

Fret not! Follow these five simple steps to bring out your inner fashion genie, and a trendsetter you will be!

STEP 1: Discover your body

Now, discovering your body in the bedroom is as important! But here, we are talking about finding your best asset. Get to know your body type, shape and figure – this way, you can easily find out which style of clothing would fit you best. Also, you would know which section to shop for – whether you’re petite, tall or curvy, brands these days have designs cater specifically for your figure!

By understanding your own body, your confidence will naturally grow! For example, if you feel the most confident about your collar-bones, rock ’em off-shoulder tops and dresses that are oh-so trendy right now. Styling yourself in clothes that best highlight your features and you’re good to go :)

STEP 2: Figure your personality

Next step is to go back to basics and understand who you are. Just like how women comes in all shapes and sizes, we also have different types of personalities and what we’d like to call, ‘alter egos’. So, if you find yourself to be mostly feminine, or perhaps sporty – you should find outfits that fit those styles.

Are you Posh, Baby, Scary, Ginger or Sporty?

Don’t force yourself to follow trends or fads that other women are wearing just because! Three words: comfort is key.

STEP 3: Find inspiration

Where to find it you may ask? Everywhere! From paintings and magazines to movies, the list goes on. If you want to start simple, celebrities and bloggers’ street-styles are the best inspo. Simply google “denim jacket street-style” and you’ll see different ways to style up and down your outerwear – it’s that simple. Just remember that we go to them for ideas and not to steal their exact style – as their body type (STEP 1) or personality (STEP 2) may not fit you.

TIP! Screenshot or save the look you love for future reference to create your personal little black book of fashion. It’s also the best way for you to look back at what you find appealing.

This is probably the most important step of all to finding your personal style – it is to continuously experiment with your outfits and looks. Go bold or go home we’d say – do not care about what others think of you, and mix and match to find a style that screams ‘you’. Even the most famous celebrities go through style transformations to finally find their unique sense of style, and Rita Ora is definitely one of them.

STEP 5: Have fun

What we have to remember: fashion is best expressed when it comes from our own creative mind and how it makes us feel. It is more than just looking good, which is why with confidence, you can pull off almost anything. Hopefully, with these easy and fun steps, you will nail your own style game, for sure!
