A Fashion Buyer’s Wardrobe Essentials

Citing fashion as her fave mode of self-expression, take a cue from our stylista of the month: 26-year-old fashion buyer Joanne Teh who knows her stuff from A-Z.

Not only does Joanne have an incredible eye for fashion, but her witty and genuine personality simply makes you want to be her best friend! Joanne has been in love with fashion since young – experimenting with different looks (some of which she may not be proud of now) throughout her teenage years before she finally found her style. And she thinks it’s really important to not take yourself too seriously when it comes to dressing up.

To steal Joanne’s über-cool style, mum jeans, booties and a killer pair of cat-eye sunglasses are the items to grab. Although her mother is her biggest fashion influence (she vets Joanne’s outfits before she leaves the house!), she holds to her sister-in-law’s advice: “It takes effort and a certain amount of creativity to dress in prints and colour”. Even though she’s usually in pants on working weekdays, Joanne’s always up for injecting some fun into her ensembles with notice-me motifs and shades.

“Wear your sparkling sequinned dress out and about on casual Sundays!”

When it comes to shopping, this fashionista tends to get timeless separates that are within her wardrobe’s colour scheme, for easy mixing and matching, but admits to impulse buys at times. Oh-so passionate about sustainable fashion, she’d like to be involved in it in the future. “It’s a step in the right direction for our planet and for those involved in the production of clothes.” Kudos, Joanne!
