“When we want to make someone feel especially glamorous in the pages of “Vogue”, we turn to Carolina Herrera, who personifies the power and the positivity of dressed-up American style. She was, and remains, the very idea of chic for so many women.” – Anna Wintour, Vogue
From first ladies like Jackie Kennedy and Michelle Obama, to celebrities and international royalties, Carolina is favoured for her designs that scream timelessness and modern elegance. You can get a glimpse of some of Herrera’s work from her book that illustrates some of her signature designs from her debut in 1981 to the present.
Chapters in the book also cover Carolina Herrera’s interviews, behind-the-scenes as well as archival images and lavish visual materials – it’s definitely a book for all fashion lovers out there.
To make it extra special, Herrera collaborated with Master Perfumer, Carlos Benaim to come up with an interpreted version of the original Carolina Herrera New York’s fragrance that was launched in 1988 – a limited edition perfume to commemorate the designer’s trajectory in the fashion world.
Quoted from Carolina Herrera de Baez herself, “The bottle has a modern twist as well, a look & feel which is more aligned with the latest House of Herrera fragrances. I think both fragrances share the House of Herrera values: elegance, sophistication, and femininity. With their main ingredients, jasmine and tuberose, I can perceive my mother’s Latin roots. Their signature scent reminds me of my Mother and how she has successfully created her signature as well in the world of fashion.”
Carolina Herrera has definitely contributed greatly in shaping the fashion world and still remains to be one of the most influential designers today. To many more years to come!
