She’s back! After quitting modelling back in 2015, Cara Delevingne is now back and fabulous as always as the face of the new fashion campaign for Jimmy Choo’s Cruise 2018.
The model, actress, and author stars in the new campaign, with gorgeous still shots by Tom Craige and a short film by Lorin Askill called Shimmer In The Dark, features all the party outfit inspo you need ahead of the party season!
The campaign stills as well the film perfectly captures Cara as the life of the party donning the glamorous shoes from the luxe brand’s latest offering. From posing in Los Angeles to sashaying down the streets of New York, Cara proves that she’s still got the magic model touch that’s just going to get even more brilliant!
With that, Cara spills on her failproof go-to party look, the best party she’s been to and what the holiday seasons mean to her.
You’re leading the Jimmy Choo holiday campaign, what is your idea of the perfect Christmas?
Friends, family, food, feast, fiesta and obviously lots of presents!
Do you have any holiday or party traditions?
Because my family is so big, we have a ‘fake’ Christmas where we go to a place in the countryside and have our own little celebration before Christmas all together. Of course, I love a good pub gathering around Christmas time and drinking eggnog, which is disgusting but you have to drink it because it’s Christmas! I also do like a bit of carolling while I’m there.
In your opinion, what makes the perfect party outfit?
Glitter, sparkles, and a feather boa! But for a more fun option, I’d grab a Santa hat or red nose Rudolf style.
Which is your favourite shoes from the collection and why?
It’s definitely the black MAINE heeled boots with the multi-coloured gems (see above picture)! It reminds me the lit up cities, like New York with its multi-coloured lights. Since it’s the city that never sleeps, these booties are the perfect shoes to wear. Plus, they’re also extremely comfortable!
What’s your favourite New York hotspot?
I just like being on the streets in New York – the energy is so amazing! You can see so many amazing things and meet so many amazing people.
There are several unisex styles in the collection – what’s your tip for mastering that androgynous look?
As I feel about life, being male or female is less ‘opposite’ now than it ever has been. I don’t think it’s necessarily about picking something that a man would wear. I think it’s about feeling comfortable
whether it is masculine or feminine. A suit doesn’t have to be masculine. The key thing to pull off the look is to be comfortable with whatever you want to wear be it a ball gown or what you think a man would wear.
Has your personal style changed in the past years?
As I’ve grown up, my style evolved as well. I now gravitate towards a beret and leather jacket as opposed to statement Tees and baseball caps. I think in a way it’s matured and yet I still feel comfortable in what I wear.
You got a party invite for tomorrow, who is your party partner in crime?
I’m going to say my gals.
What was the most memorable party that you’ve attended?
It was probably my 25th birthday – lots of fun-filled adventure that includes skydiving, and whale and shark diving. Couldn’t get any better than that!
Okay, what’s your next career move?
I would love to continue writing whether it’s for a book, a film or a TV show. I’d love to get more behind the camera and hopefully be a director one day to give a voice to the women’s stories which haven’t been told—which is a lot of them.
