For the first time ever, Borneo will be hosting their very own Fashion Week at the newly-opened Borneo 744, a large event and exhibition space right by the Sarawak River. The event, which will be running from the 7th to 9th July, will expect 5,000 attendees, including members of the media, fashion buyers, art and fashion lovers and the general public! Some 300 designers from Malaysia and beyond will be contributing exclusive collections and designs to this very special event, and in fact, registration spots for designers are still open (click here to register)! There’ll also be a very special launch party on the event’s first day from 11:00am to 1:00pm featuring hot tunes spun by DJ Skeletor- you won’t want to miss out.

So why Sarawak? As explained by the event organisers, Borneo is full of rich, cultural and authentic Malaysian history, and much of this will be reflected in the designers’ creative pieces. Besides fashion shows, there will be hands-on workshops for all attendees to participate in, and pop-up stores so you can nab some of these super-unique designs for yourselves.

Don’t worry if you aren’t able to make it, as you’ll be able to access exclusive content such as behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with designers and product exhibits on the event’s digital platforms. Make sure you give them a follow at @borneofashionweek2017 and check out their website borneofashionweek.com for even more updates!

If you’re a budding designer yourself, here’s your chance to shine! Not only will you get to feature your designs at this exciting event, Limkokwing University will be offering free scholarships worth RM100,000 or above to those with promising talent, which we think is awesome!
