Barbie has always been stylish but this time, she and Ken have gotten a major wardrobe upgrade.
This year, Moschino and Barbie teamed up to release a limited edition Barbie-and-Ken gift set. The famous duo are decked out in outfits worn by Moschino Creative Director Jeremy Scott himself and model Stella Maxwell at the MTV VMAs 2015.
Barbie (and Stella)’s velvet gown is from Moschino’s Fall 2015 collection whereas Ken’s tuxedo is custom-made. This is the first time Jeremy has designed a Ken doll for Mattel.
Both the dolls could be yours for US$200 (about RM890)! They’re being sold (while stocks last) on moschino.com and thebarbiecollection.com as well as Moschino’s flagship boutiques in Milan, Rome, Paris, London, Los Angeles and New York.
If you want to be the coolest beach bunny ever, why not bring along a beach towel emblazoned with images of the new Barbie and Ken? These are sold separately and retail for US$135 (about RM600 each).
It’s pretty safe to say that Jeremy is a fan of Barbie. This isn’t their first collaboration; for the fashion house’s Spring/Summer ’15 show, he sent models down the runway decked out in Barbie-inspired gear (remember that hugely-coveted Moschino Barbie mirror phone case?!)
Judging by the popularity of Moschino’s Barbie capsule collection as well as the limited edition Moschino Barbie dolls that sold out last year just an hour after their release, it goes without saying that Barbie’s star power isn’t fading anytime soon!
