Talking about individuality, if you have yet to find out your personal sense of style, then it’s time for you to keep a lookout for this year’s Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week that will be taking place in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. This will be the sixth edition of this anticipated annual event that was launched back in 2013. The main concept and idea of the event was for everyone to witness the creativity and amazing ideas of Malaysian designers.

If you’re already thinking how different this year’s fashion show can be compared to the previous years’, then think again because the aim of this year’s show is to focus on how everyone can look into sustainability and ethical fashion. All the efforts that have been put together by different designers in their labels have finally kicked off as they will be proudly showing off their designs during this time.

In line with the global call for fashion brands to up their game and think about the environment, this will be our chance to see the effort that our local designers have put in to support sustainability and work towards a more ethical way of life via the designs that they will showcase.

Here are more things that you can look forward to seeing and experiencing at KLFW this year:

1. #IGOTStyle

Don’t be surprised if you see everyone parading around in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur with this hashtag as it is the official hashtag for this year’s KLFW. The concept behind it is to create awareness of sustainability and promote the use of old items that most of us tend to overlook normally.

2. The showcase of local brands which we can all benefit from.

Get ready to let your mind be blown away by the amazing collection of outfits from local brands and designers who have partnered with supporting brands such as Projek Jahat, Sean & Sheila and Batik Kelantan on the runway.

3. Mimpikita celebrates its 10th birthday.

Founded by sisters Nurul, Amirah and Fatimah Zulkifli, this brand has come a long way and 2018 will mark a milestone as it celebrates its 10th anniversary. In line with that, the brand will be opening the show on the first night with #IGOTStyle at KLFW.
