Celebrities Show Support To Demi Lovato After Apparent Overdose

Earlier this morning, Demi Lovato was reported to have been brought to the hospital due to an apparent drug overdose. Demi was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles from her house in Hollywood Hills after the Los Angeles Police Department got a call at 11:37 am LA time.

The 25-year-old singer-songwriter is now awake and is with her family and friends at the hospital, according to Demi’s representative in a statement. “Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”

There were no further comments on the actual cause of Demi’s hospitalization but many have reported it as an apparent heroin overdose.

Since the news break, many celebrities have come out to give Demi their prayer and support via social media for her recovery.

Demi has a history of drugs and alcohol addiction, last March the singer celebrated her 6-year of sobriety but it was cut short as she apparently had a relapse which was revealed in June through her latest single ‘Sober‘.

The ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ singer revealed her truth via Twitter.

She sings the lyrics – “Momma, I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore/And daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor”. The lyrics continued, “To the ones who never left me/We’ve been down this road before/I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore.”

Demi has always been opened about her struggles with drugs and alcohol as well as her mental and eating disorders. Last year in her YouTube documentary “Demi Lovato, Simply Complicated”, the singer revealed that she started taking cocaine when she was 17 working with Disney Channel, she was scared of it at first because her mother always told her that ‘you heart could burst if you do it’ but she did it anyway and she loved it.

Her late father also struggled with addiction, “I guess I always searched for what he found in drugs and alcohol because it fulfilled him, and he chose that over a family,” she said in the documentary.

Be strong Demi, our love and prayers go to you!
