Three Types Of Difficult Bosses And How To Deal With Them

2 of 4

The Yeller

This type yells whenever things go wrong. If your response is to give in to what he wants or burst into tears on the spot out of frustration, you’re merely giving him reason to believe that his method is the best way. A passive reaction doesn’t translate into being an obedient employee.

The next time the yeller goes on a rampage, respond with a blank but calm expression. After a moment, continue the conversation calmly. This approach works because it defies the usual way of achieving mutual understanding, where both of you talk about it and come up with solutions. It’s more subtle and avoids any ill-treatment or negative feelings from the boss towards you.
