The Simple Trick To Pull Off Orange Lipstick

Time to switch up the red for something daring – Orange!

Bright, bold, beautiful and modern, that’s how we’d describe orange. It’s a colour that’s very out there and can be quite daunting to some. Before you skip through the 50 shades of oranges, why not try out one? Honestly, you’d be surprised on how good it’ll look on you. Trust me I’ve taken that leap of faith!

The key to pulling off the tangerine hue is finding the right shade for your skin tone (and the courage to pick it up). The universal shade is true orange (seriously, yes!). It’s perfect for all skin tones and it goes so well with a bit of a sun-kissed glow with minimal makeup. If you’re not a fan of super bright orange, opt for the red and orange hybrid shade, which can look really nice on deep skin tones to bring out the tones on you for that perfect pop!

Here are some steps to the perfect orange pout:

Step 1:

To make the colour really pop, apply concealer. Creamy concealer makes gliding the lipstick on way easier. Apply a few dots around the lips and blend it in with your finger. If your lips are a bit darker, you can apply some on the lips to lighten up the area for the full orange effect.

Step 2:

Apply the lips colour directly or you could use the applicator for a more precise finish.

If you’re just testing the orange waters, you can pat the colour with your finger to the lips. this is so you’d get a tease of the orange hue instead of going for a statement look. You can also take an orange lip gloss and apply it in the center of the lips for some subtle juicy pout.

Step 3:

Orange lipstick can bring out the redness and blemishes, so hide them with a light to medium coverage foundation. Fake the sun-kissed glow by applying bronzers over your cheekbones, forehead and the bridge of your nose.
