To match the amazing Louis Vuitton power suit she wore to the Oscars, Emma Stone needed an equally strong makeup look, and she nailed it!
According to Emma’s makeup artist, Rachel Goodwin, prep for the look had to start the night before, as she made Emma use Kiehl’s soon-to-be-released Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Mask the previous night. The next morning, prep continued with another Kiehl’s mask. Using a mask – whether leave-on, wash-off, or in sheet format – is one of my favourite ways to give my skin a boost, so I’m glad to see it’s Hollywood-approved!
For Emma’s naturally glowing complexion, Rachel mixed the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation in Gobi with Kiehl’s Glow Formula Skin Hydrator, which is slated to launch in May. “I applied the blend starting in the center of the face with a foundation brush. Then, I slowly blended it toward the outside of the face and down the neck using a Beauty Blender,” she says.
Perfect skin aside, the focus of the look was undoubtedly the shock of colour on Emma’s cheeks!
“This was a power blush moment! I was inspired by the unabashedly high glamour and powerful feeling of the late 70’s, early 80’s – a time when women wore strong, modern looks,” explained Rachel. “I mirrored the pink color blocking in Emma’s suit and applied the NARS NARSissist Wanted Cheek Palette high on the cheeks, blending up toward the eye.”
Finishing up with metallic burgundy eyes, navy eyeliner, and transparent glossy lips, Rachel describes the final look as “powerfully feminine“, and we are 100% here for it!
