Ever wondered how much it takes to achieve that #makeuponpoint look?
My daily makeup routine consists of basically nothing. I value sleep over everything else so waking up an hour earlier to get my face done isn’t something that’s gonna happen in this life (LOL!) for me. But of late, I’ve been bombarded with pictures of girls looking flawless on Instagram, which made me think twice about my #priorities.
Curiosity got the better of me and I decided that it was time to get all dolled up on a weekday for once. Obviously I wasn’t going to do it myself (seeing that I can’t even draw a proper eyeliner to save my life), so when my colleagues got in touch with Nass, Malaysia’s own Insta-makeup extraordinaire for the shoot, I knew I had to take this chance to get my face painted by a pro.
I’ve been obsessed with rose gold ever since the iphone 6S was launched, hence why this week’s #makeupmonday challenge was inspired by those exact shades. Plus, it’s a very feminine colour that you can rock as a day or night look.
Step 1: Start with your usual makeup routine (moisturise, foundation and concealer) but instead of applying your normal blush, go for a rosy pink with gold shimmer shade that’ll give you a highlighted flush.

Step 2: For the eyes, once you’re done applying eye primer, layer a soft brown shade of eyeshadow followed by a light pink shade. Then, use a golden shade of brown for your crease and blend it in with your pink shimmer for that rose gold look. Apply that same gold shade around your lower lid. Draw a winged eyeliner and finish off with some mascara. Eyelash extensions are optional.

Step 3: Complete your look with a rosy pink lippie and to make your pout look fuller, add a layer of soft pink shimmer gloss. Voilà, you’re done!
My favourite lip products for this look:
Don’t worry if you don’t have exact shades of rose gold in your makeup drawer, as from what Nass taught me, all you need to do is experiment with a mixture of pink, gold and brown shades (along with lots of shimmer) and you’ll be good to go!
If you’re wondering if I’ve managed to achieve my ‘Instagram makeup’ look, well, take a look at this picture below and tell me what you think:
Be rest assured I took 100 selfies that day and that I will most definitely be posting them all up on my social media.
