If you’ve mastered the art of doing a traditional braid, then we think you’re going to LOVE this jazzed up version that’s super easy and adorable!
With the amount of bridesmaid duties and wedding dinners I have to attend this year, not only am I spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a pretty dress (because anyone who’s been on Zalora knows my pain), I’m also having a tough time deciding on a suitable hairstyle for each occasion. #Priorities
I’m a fan of anything that’s girlie and sweet, hence why loose braids are one of my favourite hairstyles to do on a lazy day. But why stop there? This flower inspired up-do is the perfect look for a dinner party and I can’t get enough of it! It’s the ultimate feminine hairstyle that’s rather easy to accomplish on your own, however, if you’re not a pro in the fishtail braid department, then be sure to ask someone who knows to help you with this. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
Step 1: Divide a section of your hair just right above the ears and tie them up with a rubber band.
Step 2: Create a regular fishtail braid with that tied up section by splitting the ponytail into two smaller, equal-sized sections. Cross half-inch sections of the hair from one side over the top to the other, braiding down until there’s not more hair left for you to continue. Secure it with a rubber band.
Step 3: Wrap the braid anti-clockwise until it forms a shape of a flower. Use bobby pins to secure loose ends and to help hold the braid in place. Tuck them in the inner parts of the flower so that it doesn’t show.
Step 4: Use a curling wand to curl the rest of your hair at the bottom.
Step 5: Complete the look by setting the style with hairspray.
TIP: This hairstyle works better on day old hair. Plus, the flower shape pops out even more if you’re blessed with thicker locks or if your hair colour isn’t fully black.
