Level up your norm party hair-and-makeup looks with tips and tricks from the pros!
The holiday season is almost upon us and you know what that means? It’s P-A-R-T-Y time! Why not make some slight changes to your classic hair-and-makeup looks and jazz up with colours, glitters (duh!), tousled bun and faux side undercut!
Check out them out below:
This classic liner elongates and lights the eyes, creating an alluring gaze. This time, swap the black liner with glitter liquid as suggested by makeup artist Geraldine Loy. “Add coloured mascara for that extra-creative, fun factor,” she says. On the other hand, makeup artist Cat Yong says, “If you want to keep the black liner, outline with glitter.”
Vamp lips are an ode to the ‘90s trend and now a huge comeback. You can make an even bigger statement by applying glitter for an unexpected shine, says makeup artist Emmy Agung. Meanwhile, Geraldine suggests adding shimmery tinted lip gloss for a youthful appeal.
The low bun may have a demure and romantic vibe about it but hairstylist Ckay Liow suggests freshening up the dreamy ‘do by taking it up a notch (literally), with a bun high on the crown of your head. Tie a high ponytail and wrap the length around it and secure with bobby pins. Hairstylist Cody Chua recommends the undone bun – play with texture and zhoosh up the bun for a looser feel. The messier, the better!
Donned by classic beauties like Veronica Lake and Rita Hayworth is the gorgeous ‘S’ wave hairdo. How to update it? Cody suggests an edgy take by braiding three rows of tight French braid on one side to create the faux undercut look.
