What would a Victoria’s Secret Angel be without her head of luscious wavy hair? (Unless, of course, they’re rocking a bad-ass close crop like Henrieth Paul and Grace Bol, but that’s a post for another day!) The lively bounce of perfectly curled locks is as much a part of the whole Victoria’s Secret experience as the elaborate theatrical lingerie sets that strut down the runway.
If you’ve ever wanted to recreate the coveted Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show hair at home, you’re in luck! The man behind the hair, ghd global ambassador and curl connoisseur Adam Reed, gives his tips on exactly how to get the hair from this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai.
“It’s a modern, luxe wave this year; more luxe and dressed than before,” Adam says, explaining the look. “It’s a move on the from the undone beach wave of the past, to something more structured and beautiful.”
First of all, you’ll want to set the the foundation of the hair before you start tonging it. Here’s where a good blow-dry is essential. Adam likes to blow-dry hair smooth with a combination of the ghd Air® hair dryer and the Ceramic Vented Radial Brush in size 4.
Once blow-dried, spritz hair with ghd Curl Hold Spray and create waves throughout the hair with the ghd curve® classic curl tong. The key to this year’s beautifully modern and voluminous wave is to wind small sections of hair around the tong, wrapping all the sections in one direction away from the face.
Next, brush through hair with a paddle brush and use your hands to gently shake out the curls for a tousled, sexy and modern finish.
Finally, hold your style in place with an all-over spray of ghd Final Fix Hairspray. Now all you need is a runway to strut down!
