It’s a throwback to the ’90s!
If there’s one thing we look forward to come fashion week, it has got to be the Chanel runway show in Paris. Think about it, has there ever been a Chanel show that hasn’t left you in complete awe, be it for its stunning display of couture, revolutionary makeup looks or unbelievably-magnificent set-up – case in point: the supermarket setting of Autumn 2014 and last Spring’s airport terminal to name a few.
This year’s Spring/Summer 2017 show was no less electrifying with the majestic Grand Palais completely transformed into a data centre. Think server room with rows of supercomputers and coloured ethernet wires hanging from them. Oddly enough, while the theme was an ode to technology, Karl Lagerfeld’s latest collection served looks that were reminiscent of the ‘90s with models decked in boxy tweeds suits and printed baseball caps worn to the side.
Even the makeup by makeup artist extraordinaire Tom Pecheux was kept somewhat minimal with neat brows, pink lips and blusher that went from cheekbones all the way up to the temples. For hair, hairstylist Sam McKnight created a low side-ponytail worn in opposite direction of the baseball cap. Want to give the look a try? We break it down for you here.
On the face: Using a buffing brush, apply the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation in circular motions and blend evenly from the centre moving outwards. Next, lightly dust the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder to set the foundation and keep oil at bay. Using the Exclusive Creation Coco Code Blusher, dust it in a number 3 motion from your cheeks to your temples.
On the eyes: Keep the eyes subtle by colouring them in with the light silver hue from the Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow in Tisse Smokey and polish brows using the La Palette Sourcils De Chanel Brow Powder Duo.
On the lips: Complete the look with two swipes of the Rouge Allure Ink in Séduisant and you’re good to go!
