Be ahead of the game this season with tips straight from a pro!
Lipsticks are a staple in every woman’s makeup collection but choosing the right one can be a little challenging cos aside from the hue , we look at moisture level and longevity. Luckily for us, Shiseido’s Rouge Rouge is formulated with vibrant pigments and hyaluronic acid that delivers rich moisture for plumper looking lips. But how does it actually look on the skin? FEMALE had the pleasure of having a casual chat with Shiseido’s International Makeup Artist, Teruaki Shinjyo on Spring beauty trends, how to select the perfect lip colour and everything in between. Here’s what went down:
FEMALE: Spring is here. What are some of the trends to look for this season?
Teruaki: “It is good to add an element of contrast to natural makeup this season. The easiest way is by adding an extra dimension to the makeup, such as adding a glow to the skin with a highlighter or to give impact with a vibrant lip colour that’s eye-catching.
F: What are your tips on prolonging the wear of the Rouge Rouge lipstick?
T: “To further enhance the long-lasting nature of the lipstick, you may opt to put on lip liner as a base coat before applying lipstick, or remove any extra lipstick by blotting with a tissue.”
F: If you had to choose just one colour from the Rouge Rouge range, what would it be and why?
T: “I’d recommend RD312 Poppy. It makes you look fresh with vibrant colour that’s on trend this season.”
F: What are your tips on picking the right red lipstick shade?
T: “I recommend you select the colour of makeup that best matches your skin tone. It enhances the makeup results when you use colours that complement your complexion.”
F: In your opinion as a pro makeup artist, what’s the one thing women should stop doing to their faces?
T: “Wearing the same style of makeup and making assumptions that something doesn’t look good on them and avoid trying anything new.”
F: What’s the best beauty advice anyone has ever given you?
T: “Beauty goes beyond a single definition of beauty. Beauty is about embracing diversity. My mission is recognising and bringing out the beauty of each unique individual.”
