We all know by now that makeup isn’t a one-size-fits-all thing. With our different features, which is why Korean Youtuber ShanTokki and her makeup artist friend Gong Saerom teamed up to present 4 different techniques for different eye shapes that you can do at home!
So if you want to know what’s the right eyeshadow, eyeliner technique and mascara application for your own unique eye shape, read on!
1. Monolid eyes
Monolid eyes can look puffy with the wrong makeup technique, so how do you define them the right way? Saerom suggests using only matte eyeshadow on your upper lids, which will give it dimension while shimmery shadows can reflect light and make them look puffier.
As for the usual monolid dilemma of needing a lot of eyeliner just to keep it visible, don’t worry. Tightlining your eyes with a brown gel liner will define them in the most natural way, while still looking daytime appropriate! You can also further bring out the natural contours of your eye by adding a bit of shadow to the outer corner, while soft pearly eyeshadow on the lower lid will bring in just the right amount of light.
