Fancy a beer bath?
But you’ll have to travel to Bangkok to do it. This September through November (in conjunction with Oktoberfest, as you might have noticed), the Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort has a very special treatment for you to try. Their Enriching Beer Therapy spa package utilises the nourishing properties of the world’s oldest alcoholic beverage: beer!!
The therapy begins with an aromatic Beer Mint Bubble Bath that cleanses the body from top to toe. Rich in vitamins, amino acids, minerals and anti-oxidants, bathing in beer has been carried out in Europe for centuries. These delicious suds are great for the skin, increasing elasticity and circulation. Don’t be afraid to sink in under the bubbles, because your hair can benefit from a dip in beer too! Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones once swore by beer’s hair-smoothing results, and the mint infusion here will leave you with a tingling and voluptuous mane.
The journey continues with an exfoliating Beer Scrub, drawing out impurities through active ingredients like orange peel, salt rice powder and cranberry seed. Once the skin has been gently polished to a healthy glow, a warming massage awaits. With the hour-long full body massage with Rice Bran Oil, you’ll feel the tension slip from your muscles, while breathing in the subtly sweet scent.
After being thoroughly spoilt, the treatment is finished with… a frothy pint of beer, of course! Guests will adore unwinding with a nice cold pint at the cosily colonial Elephant Bar. So if you’re looking to unwind from the stresses of work, this spa journey will cleanse and polish you inside and out, leaving you radiant and refreshed.
The 2-hour ‘Enriching Beer Therapy’ package is priced at THB 3,900++ (RM497++) per person and THB 7,600++ (RM970++) per couple. The package is available through 30 November 2017. To reserve a spot, contact the Anantara Spa at +66(0)22109000, Ext 1563 or email .
