The French brand made its mark in Seoul, Korea by celebrating their 1st birthday bash.
To mark the 20th anniversary of Caudalie’s cult-favourite Beauty Elixir, the brand threw a birthday bash suited for the stars in the heart of the K-pop city and I was invited to see it all! I’d have to say, I was over the moon to have the opportunity to visit Seoul and celebrate a milestone for the product as well as La Maison’s first birthday, so two strokes of luck (it’s probably more than that if you count walking in beauty haven in Myeongdong, swooning over oppas on the street and meeting an A-list celebrity) for me!
If you haven’t heard of Caudalie, they are a French brand that harnesses the power of grapes to create products that cater to all skin types, so whether you’re struggling with dehydration, pigmentation or fine lines, you’ll find what you need! As soon as I arrive, I was whisked away to La Maison Caudalie in Itaewon. The building paid homage to both French and Korean architecture with its wooden flooring and wine bar. They handed me a menu of spa services for the face and body but I chose a hydrating facial, which is perfect for my dry and sensitive skin, especially after long hours of travelling (six hours to be exact).
During the trip, I got to meet Malaysian personalities Elfira Loy and Sufian Suhaimi, who were incredibly humble and welcoming! I even shared bingsu with them (lifegoals check!). But the highlight of the trip was meeting BoA, an OG from the K-pop scene, who also had success in the Japanese market; basically, she’s the Madonna of K-pop, and with that came clicking sounds and flashing lights from cameras (that was the moment I experience what it’s like to be around a celebrity). Oh, and yes, she is as stunning in photos as she is IRL.
During the trip, Caudalie also revealed the next face of its Beauty Elixir and it’s none other than the ever-flawless Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. A model and an actress, she has never failed to wow the world with her effortless beauty (remember Transformers: Dark of Moon where she stood on top of the building with the wind blowing through her hair while being covered in dirt? She still looked ace!). Her must-have product? It’s none other than the Beauty Elixir!
