Dewy glowy skin has never been more in vogue!
Thanks to the K-pop wave that has swept the world, we’ve probably all wondered how to get the radiant, luminous, dewy skin of our favourite Korean stars.
If you’re like me, perhaps you’ve bid goodbye to your matte finishes and filled your vanities with all the dewy, illuminating products you could! But of course, as it is with all things beauty, application matters just as much as the products we choose.
So while a lot of the dewy glow comes from skincare, there are a few ways to get it with some clever makeup application as well. Korean celebrity makeup artist Jung Saem Mool calls it “watery skin”, which sounds utterly irresistible to me. Here’s how she does it.
Start with a bright, perfect base
One of the most important steps for dewy skin makeup is a bright, perfect base, and Jung Saem Mool achieves this with CC cream, applied with a latex sponge.
If you have any blemishes, use a brush to pat on concealer, in two different shades to match your skin tone if you need it.
Pat on the glow
Now here’s the key step. Instead of using a normal base product, pick a cushion foundation that’s one shade lighter than your skin tone. Before patting it onto your face, dot a rich moisturising cream on your skin and blend that out with your cushion as you apply it. This helps the lighter shade of the foundation blend more naturally with your own skin tone while also imbuing it with a radiant glow.
Apply this only on your T-zone and apples of your cheeks– the brightening effect creates fullness and depth without contouring!
Finish it off
To compliment your newfound glow, use shimmery, pearly eyeshadow in beige to pink tones and a bright, glowing lipstick.
